Grayson County commissioners will be asked Tuesday to pay $225,304.68 to Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Co. for resurfacing two groups of streets in the county's Precinct 1, one labeled Sherman and one labeled Van Alstyne in the county's purchasing records.
The payment is listed under bills on the agenda for the Commissioners Court's 10 a.m. meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The request, from the county auditor's office, describes it as an asphalt project for Precinct 1.
Which streets
The county's purchase order, dated Sept. 18 and issued under bid 2026-06, calls for a Type D hot-mix asphalt overlay on:
- Rams Lane, Payne Drive and Trails End Circle, grouped as the Sherman portion. Map data places the three streets next to each other in the 75092 ZIP code. One line of the purchase order spells the second street "Tams Land," while the change order line lists it as Rams Lane.
- Sundance Drive and Buckskin Drive, grouped as the Van Alstyne portion.
Change orders added crack sealing on both groups of streets.
Less asphalt than estimated
The contract was written for up to $299,345: about 1,325 tons of asphalt at $123.50 a ton for the Van Alstyne streets, about 950 tons at $128.15 a ton for the Sherman streets, and $13,965 in crack sealing.
