Back to School: When Sherman Students Return in 2026 and the Key Dates to Know

Summer is winding down, and classes are about to resume for students across Sherman. Here is when the new school year begins and the key dates families will want to mark, based on each district's official 2026-27 calendar.

The city of Sherman is served by Sherman ISD, where students return Tuesday, August 11, 2026. The year runs through May 14, 2027.

New for 2026-27, Sherman ISD is adding 10 minutes to the start of the elementary school day to meet state instructional-time rules.

Sherman ISD is holding a Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sherman High School, with freshman FISH Camp on July 31.
