Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop delivered one of the most critical kicks of his career, sinking a 56-yard field goal as time expired to secure a 34-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The win improves Baltimore’s record to 2-1, while the Cowboys fall to 1-2 in the early season standings.
The game, played at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro before a crowd of 72,792, was a tightly contested affair that required a late-game heroics to determine the winner.
First Half Scoring Exchange
Dallas opened the scoring with Brandon Aubrey drilling a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter. However, the Ravens quickly responded with back-to-back touchdowns from running back Derrick Henry. After Henry’s initial two-yard rush was followed by Tyler Loop’s extra point, Baltimore took its first lead.
The Cowboys answered before halftime when Javonte Williams punched it in from two yards out, giving Dallas a 10-7 advantage at the half. The Ravens reclaimed the lead early in the second quarter as Henry scored again from three yards out, extending the margin to 14-10. Loop added a 27-yard field goal before halftime to push the lead to 17-10.
Aubrey narrowed the gap with a 38-yard field goal just before the break, making the score 17-13 at halftime.
Third Quarter Shifts and Late Rally
The Ravens extended their lead in the third quarter when Lamar Jackson found Chris Moore on a four-yard pass, increasing the advantage to 24-13. Dallas mounted a comeback late in the period, with Dak Prescott connecting with Jake Ferguson for a 19-yard touchdown. The Cowboys successfully converted a two-point pass from Prescott to CeeDee Lamb, cutting the deficit to 24-21 heading into the fourth quarter.
