Irving Leads Bucs Charge

Bucky Irving carried the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 24-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The visiting Bucs capitalized on a dominant rushing performance from Irving, who recorded 165 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. This win improved Tampa Bay’s record to 1-4, while the home Cowboys dropped to 2-3.

The game drew an attendance of 92,351, with the visitors ultimately outscoring Dallas in the third quarter to secure the lead.

Early Back-and-Forth

The Cowboys struck first in the opening period, with Javonte Williams rushing one yard for a touchdown, followed by a successful kick by Brandon Aubrey. The score stood at 7-0 in favor of Dallas. In the second quarter, Tampa Bay tied the game at 7-7 when rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels found Irving on a five-yard pass, sealed by a Chase McLaughlin kick.

Dallas regained the lead in the second period as Aubrey connected on a 41-yard field goal, making the score 10-7 at halftime.

Third-Quarter Surge

The third quarter defined the game’s outcome. Tampa Bay’s offense exploded for 17 points, while Dallas scored none. Emeka Egbuka rushed 14 yards for a touchdown, giving the Bucs a 14-10 lead.

Irving then added a one-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 21-10. McLaughlin converted a 41-yard field goal to make it 24-10. This third-quarter dominance proved decisive, as the Cowboys failed to score in the final period until late in the fourth.

Prescott and Pickens Shine

Despite the loss, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott showed resilience, completing 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. George Pickens was a key target for Prescott, catching nine passes for 130 yards and scoring a touchdown on an 18-yard reception in the fourth quarter.

However, the Cowboys’ two-point conversion attempt failed after Pickens’ catch, leaving the final margin at eight points. Javonte Williams contributed 45 rushing yards on 12 carries for Dallas.
