A Clean Sheet to Start
St. Louis began its campaign with a flawless performance, shutting out the Dallas Stars 4-0 at the American Airlines Center on Friday, October 2, 2026. The visiting Blues controlled the pace from the opening faceoff, leaving the home team with zero goals and zero points in the standings after just one game.
The contest was decided before the crowd of 18,532 could settle in. Just moments into the first period, Mason McTavish found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. His snap shot beat the Dallas defense, assisted by Colton Parayko and Jimmy Snuggerud. The early strike set the tone for a game where St. Louis never trailed.
Second Period Dominance
Dallas struggled to generate offense in the middle frame, unable to answer the Blues’ physical play. In the second period, Dalibor Dvorsky doubled the lead with his own first career goal. Utilizing a snap shot similar to McTavish’s earlier effort, Dvorsky capitalized on a setup from Philip Broberg and Pius Suter.
The 2-0 advantage gave St. Louis control of the game’s momentum heading into the final twenty minutes.
