The recently launched series "Dutton Ranch," a sequel to "Yellowstone," was filmed across various locations in North Texas, including towns like Ferris, Boyd, and Fort Worth. This production took place between August 2025 and March 2026, utilizing the region's landscapes to represent the fictional town of Rio Paloma, despite the narrative being set in the Rio Grande Valley.

The series premiered on May 15, 2026, with a two-episode launch that attracted 2.9 million viewers on Paramount Network, marking the largest cable series premiere since 2023. In its first week, the show garnered 12.9 million viewers globally on Paramount+, making it the most successful series debut in the platform's history.

The cast features Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip, along with Ed Harris and Annette Bening among others.

Ferris, located about 18 miles southeast of downtown Dallas, played a significant role in the filming. The production benefits from Texas' Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which supports film and television projects financially based on their expenditures in the state. Paramount+ has confirmed a second season for "Dutton Ranch," although a premiere date has yet to be announced.
