Alorica Inc. has launched an impact sourcing initiative in India designed to create employment opportunities for underrepresented communities while maintaining high service standards. The company, which provides AI-powered customer experience and digital transformation services, announced the program as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts and inclusive growth strategy.
The initiative began in Bengaluru through a partnership with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. This nonprofit organization focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities via education, vocational training, and employment support. Together, the organizations welcomed the inaugural class of deaf and hard-of-hearing professionals to Alorica India. For many of these new hires, this role represents their first formal full-time employment.
To facilitate the success of this cohort, Alorica developed a specialized hiring, onboarding, and training model. This framework included workplace orientation visits, revised assessment methods, sign-language awareness training, dedicated trainers, and accessible communication tools. The new employees completed classroom instruction and moved into the nesting phase, with early customer feedback reporting more than 80% positive responses.
Sanjay Ponnappa, Regional President of India and EMEA at Alorica, stated that the company aims to create opportunity for both the business and its workforce. He noted that collaborating with local organizations allows Alorica to reach talented candidates who are often overlooked by traditional hiring practices.
Ponnappa added that the program supports communities with limited economic access while enabling the company to achieve the high-quality performance central to its reputation.
The program was developed in collaboration with a leading global retail company. Leaders from that client recently visited the site and expressed confidence in the team’s progress. Ponnappa highlighted that several participants described the program as an example of true inclusion, appreciating the opportunity to be treated equally in the workplace.
