Texas Instruments and Infineon Technologies have increased their backing of the Zephyr Project by upgrading to Platinum membership, the Linux Foundation announced Oct. 1.
Zephyr is an open-source operating system for devices with limited computing resources. The foundation says the additional support will provide more resources for technical development, infrastructure and community programs. TI has contributed software and hardware-board support since the project began in 2016.
The announcement comes ahead of a maintainers’ forum Oct. 6 and the Zephyr Developer Summit Oct. 7–9 in Prague. Planned sessions cover security, testing, connectivity and industrial applications.
