Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area have fallen substantially from their highs. Prices have dropped about 47 cents over the past month, driven by lower crude oil costs and strong refinery output. Compared to a year ago, when the state average was $2.7470, drivers are now paying about 59 cents more per gallon.
