LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, is set to establish a new facility in McKinney, approximately 30 miles south of Sherman, with an investment nearing $919 million. This project is anticipated to generate over 600 jobs throughout its duration, with the initial phase alone accounting for a $307 million investment and around 500 positions.

The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet and will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters for advanced manufacturing. It will focus on creating power systems essential for AI data centers. The project received support from the state, including a Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $3.5 million and a $100,000 bonus aimed at veteran-created jobs.

LITEON, founded in 1975, has evolved from its origins in LED technology to become a key player in the AI sector. The company's revenue from AI-related business is projected to increase significantly, reflecting the growing demand for efficient power supplies in data centers.

The new facility will be strategically located in North Texas, which has the highest number of planned data centers in the state, allowing for local production of necessary power systems. This development marks one of the largest corporate investments in McKinney's history, enhancing the local economy and job market.
