Northbound traffic on U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman was halted Tuesday morning after a semi-truck caught fire following a collision. The Sherman Police Department confirmed the incident involved two vehicles, specifically identifying one as a large commercial truck.
The crash occurred at the Shepherd Drive intersection. Authorities closed both northbound lanes of the highway to manage the scene and address the fire. Motorists were advised to anticipate delays and to look for alternative paths through the area.
Sherman Police noted that minor injuries were reported among those involved in the accident. While the specific identities of the drivers or the exact cause of the fire were not immediately detailed, officials stated the northbound lanes would remain shut down for an extended period.
Southbound traffic experienced initial disruptions as well. At the time of the initial reports, southbound lanes were reduced to a single lane. An update issued around 8:05 a.m. confirmed that both southbound lanes had since reopened to traffic.
