The city of Sherman held its annual Arts Fest on Saturday at Kidd Key Park, marking the event's 45th year. The festival has served as a regular Saturday gathering for residents for nearly five decades.
Attendees encountered a variety of attractions, including live musical performances, food trucks, bounce houses, and numerous vendor booths. Streets around the park were filled with visitors despite warm weather conditions.
Nicole Browe operated a booth named "My Shelf," where she sells custom shelves featuring miniature books and small decorative items. She noted that the event allowed her to connect with both new customers and those who had purchased from her in previous years. Browe expressed satisfaction in returning to the festival after some time away.
Lindsey Tucker, another vendor, reported meeting many friendly attendees throughout the day. She highlighted that interacting with the public is a primary reason for her participation, aiming to help people feel at ease and smile during their visit.
Organizers indicated that while some vendors were making their debut at Arts Fest this year, others had participated in prior editions. The broadcast station KXII also maintained a presence at the event, staffed by familiar on-air personalities.
