The City of Sherman has scheduled a public hearing for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, to review five proposed ordinances. The session will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 220 W. Mulberry St.
Ordinance No. 6950 proposes rezoning a tract containing Lots 10 and 12, Block 11, of Greenmount Addition. The property, situated at 300 North Bryant Avenue, is currently classified as R-6 for single-family residential use. The proposal seeks to change the classification to C-6, Neighborhood Commercial.
Cornerstone 633 LLC is listed as the owner, with Kenneth Sullivan as the applicant and Preston Trail Land Surveying as the surveyor.
Ordinance No. 6951 addresses a parcel in the 1400 block of South Branch Street, comprising Lot 9 and part of Lot 10, Block 5, of Jones and Wainrights Addition. The land is currently zoned M-2 for heavy manufacturing. The ordinance would rezone the tract to R-5, single-family residential. Douglass Distribution owns the property, Jack Sears is the applicant, and Helvey-Wagner Surveying, Inc. is the surveyor.
Ordinance No. 6952 does not involve a rezoning but instead grants a specific use permit for commercial amusement centers, indoor only. The permit applies to a C-1 Retail Business district parcel at 112 West Lamar Street, identified as Lot 3, Block 7, of the Original Town Plat. Joey Gunn is the owner and Roger Holloman is the applicant.
Ordinance No. 6953 seeks to rezone 18.3788 acres in the 5301 block of West Houston Street. The land, part of the E.N. Deaver Survey, Abstract No. 358, is currently R-A, Residential Agriculture.
