Texoma Trade Days has returned to Sherman, offering shoppers a weekend of browsing vintage clothing, collectibles, and other unique items. The event takes place on the west side of Midway Mall and serves as a gathering spot for vendors and buyers interested in nostalgic goods and bargain hunting.
Paul James, a participant for more than three decades, described the appeal of the market as finding items that trigger childhood memories. He noted that the event provides a personal connection with sellers that he feels is missing in traditional large malls. James emphasized the element of surprise, stating that one never knows what might be discovered while browsing.
Clyde Roberts, a vendor and lifelong collector of Hot Wheels, has operated a booth at Trade Days events across Texas for over 30 years alongside his wife, Audrey. Roberts traced his interest in the toys to his childhood experience racing cars in the streets and his father’s involvement in drag racing.
After a career change, Roberts decided to turn his hobby into a business, a move he said proved more financially successful than his previous employment. He credited his wife’s sales skills for helping them build their operation.
