Texas Governor Greg Abbott visited the communities of Sherman and Elgin on March 23 to confer with local leaders and residents impacted by tornadoes. The governor met with officials from these areas following the storms that struck on the preceding Monday night.

This visit was part of a broader response to severe weather threats that prompted Abbott to direct the Texas Division of Emergency Management to mobilize resources earlier in the month. The governor also issued a disaster declaration for 11 counties in response to wildfire activity and provided updates on state fire response efforts in Medina County.

Additionally, Abbott continued to oversee Operation Lone Star, which has surpassed 10,000 felony arrests while working to secure the border and interdict transnational criminal behavior. The governor also announced that Sovereign Flavors will relocate its headquarters to Texas from California.
