The Texas Wiffle Ball League returned to Bells for its annual All-Star Game, drawing families and fans to Home Run Ranch for an evening of entertainment. The event featured professional athletes competing on the field, alongside food vendors and treats for attendees. Bells is located approximately 12 miles east of Sherman.
Prior to the main competition, the league organized a clinic for local children. Participants had the opportunity to interact with the professional players and learn various aspects of the game, including hitting and pitching. Gage West, commissioner of the Texas Wiffle Ball League, described the initiative as a way to provide young participants with a professional-level experience.
West noted that the league has held this All-Star Game at the ranch for the past four years. He stated that the organization values the chance to connect with the community and teach children the sport during their summer visits.
The professional portion of the event began at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Players took turns at bat, aiming to hit home runs in front of the gathered crowd. The venue, Home Run Ranch, has become a notable destination for sports and entertainment groups.
Stephen Newton, the owner of Home Run Ranch, explained that the field was originally constructed to serve the ranch’s student ministry, which holds weekly Sunday night gatherings. The facility gained significant attention after a video of it went viral last year. Newton reported that the ranch now hosts between 40 and 50 groups each month, including visits from popular content creators and sports teams.
