BELLS, Texas — The Texas Wiffle Ball League brought its annual All-Star Game to Home Run Ranch in Bells, drawing Texoma families for wiffle ball, food trucks, snow cones and a summer community event.

Before the main game, the league hosted a kids clinic so children could play alongside league players and learn hitting and pitching basics.

We have a kids play with the pros, with all the kids in the community. They’ll learn how to hit, learn how to pitch, whatever they’re interested in doing, we try to get them their big league experience,
League commissioner Gage West told KXII the All-Star Game has become an annual tradition at Home Run Ranch over the past four years. The main event began at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with players taking the field and competing for home runs.

Home Run Ranch owner Stephen Newton said the field was first built for the ranch’s student ministry, which meets there on Sunday nights. The field later drew wider attention and now hosts 40 to 50 groups per month, including visits from Dude Perfect and the Savannah Bananas.

Newton said the Wiffle Ball All-Star Game remains one of the ranch’s favorite events, telling KXII, “We love these guys.”

Sherman is the county seat of Grayson County, part of the Texoma region, about 65 miles north of Dallas.
