Hawks erase halftime deficit
The Atlanta Hawks came back from a seven-point halftime deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 123-116 in a preseason game Thursday night at Frost Bank Center.
San Antonio, playing its first preseason game, raced to a 39-20 lead after one quarter. Atlanta answered with 42 points in the second to cut the gap to 69-62 at the break.
Second-half turn
The Hawks won the third quarter 31-26 to pull within 95-93, then took over in the fourth, outscoring the Spurs 30-21. Ball security was a big part of the swing: San Antonio committed 21 turnovers to Atlanta's 10.
