Sherman is seeking a contractor to replace a low-water crossing on South Cimmaron Trail with a storm-drain system as part of Phase IV drainage improvements for Setting Suns.

The city lists bid 2027-01 as open. Its notice, posted Oct. 7, describes 170 feet of pipe, two drainage inlets and an outlet channel, along with repaving approximately 44 feet of the street. The road profile would change as the drain system replaces the existing crossing.

Both the city’s online listing and its attached advertisement set Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, as the bid date, but they disagree on the time. The listing says 10 a.m.; the advertisement says sealed bids must reach the Engineering Office by 3 p.m. Contractors should confirm the cutoff with the city before preparing a submission. The advertisement names Kristi Jenkins at kristij@cityofsherman.com as the bidding contact and requires questions in writing.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the conference room of the Community Services Building, 317 S. Travis St. The advertisement strongly recommends attendance. Plans and specifications are available through CIVCAST after registration, with no charge to view or download them.

The work also includes demolition, traffic control, grading and sod installation. The project remains in the bidding stage; the city has not announced a construction schedule.
