Von Miller, who leads the NFL in active career sacks, has signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The announcement came from Miller himself through an Instagram post, where he expressed his enthusiasm with the phrase, "Hereee Weee Gooo."
A DeSoto, Texas native, Miller has deep connections to the region, having played college football at Texas A&M. He is entering his 15th NFL season after playing last year with the Washington Commanders, where he made 26 tackles and achieved nine sacks across the season.
Miller is a two-time Super Bowl champion, with victories in 2015 with the Denver Broncos and in 2021 with the Los Angeles Rams. He was selected second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Broncos and has also played for the Buffalo Bills.
With a total of 138.5 career sacks, he is tied for 13th all-time alongside Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, who also played for the Cowboys.
In addition to his sack record, Miller has tallied 607 tackles, 271 quarterback hits, and 27 forced fumbles over 203 games. His impressive career includes three First Team All-Pro honors and eight Pro Bowl selections. The Cowboys will kick off their 2026 regular season on September 13 against the New York Giants in a Sunday Night Football matchup.
