Baylor has offered Bear Acy, a five-star basketball prospect in the 2029 class who holds the No. 7 national ranking. Acy has not announced a decision, and the report indicates that more recruiting opportunities are expected for him. The offer is not described as his only one.
Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches. He is described as having the size to affect play on both sides of the court, with potential contributions that include rim protection, passing-lane disruption, blocked shots and deflections.
The offer also connects Acy to Baylor through his father, Quincy Acy. Quincy played for the Bears from 2008 to 2012 and received All-Big 12 Defensive Team recognition for the 2011-12 season. His game included scoring, rebounding and shot blocking near the basket.
Baylor coach Scott Drew coached Quincy throughout his four seasons with the program. Drew became Baylor's head coach in 2003 and earlier worked at Valparaiso as an assistant for his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew. It is not known whether that family relationship will affect Bear Acy's decision.
