Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently designated as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in their upcoming game against Prairie View A&M.
Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. Despite the setback, he played the entire match, demonstrating effective leadership of the offense, albeit with limited mobility. In his first game for Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes, totaling 333 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
He played a pivotal role in a late-game surge, overcoming a 17-10 deficit with key completions, including a 28-yard pass on a crucial fourth-and-10.
Updates regarding Lagway's recovery are anticipated following practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the team continues to assess his condition.
