In April 2025, he was traded to the Cowboys, where he gained experience by playing in four games without a start.
After being waived at the end of August, Milton chose to rejoin the Cowboys' practice squad, reflecting his contentment with the team's trajectory. Schottenheimer and the coaching staff are optimistic about Milton's decision to stay, believing he will continue to develop as a young quarterback.
