Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott opted out of participating in the team's three preseason games. This decision comes as he gears up for the 2026 season, bolstered by a strong receiving duo of CeeDee Lamb and new addition George Pickens, who joined in the 2025 offseason.

Last season, Prescott recorded his second-highest passing yard total, amassing 4,552 yards and completing 30 touchdown passes on 600 attempts. The Cowboys are shifting towards a more balanced offensive strategy this year, which may result in a decrease in Prescott's touchdown totals. Furthermore, a new defensive scheme under coordinator Christian Parker aims to minimize situations where Prescott and the offense need to play catch-up.

With Lamb and Pickens leading the receiving corps, Prescott is positioned to potentially surpass 4,000 passing yards in the upcoming season.
