Dallas Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be unavailable for at least four weeks, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The team has not said whether it will place Thompson on injured reserve, but he is considered a potential candidate for the designation.
Thompson left during the second quarter of Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. His absence further reduces the team’s options at safety. Malik Hooker has been out for Dallas’ last two games with a forearm issue, while P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday after sustaining a foot injury.
Thompson played every defensive snap through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season before the injury. He had 17 tackles during that span.
