The Houston Texans have made a notable addition to their roster by acquiring wide receiver Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots. In return, the Patriots received Jaylen Reed along with a seventh-round draft pick for the year 2028.
At 24 years old, Boutte faced stiff competition for playing time in New England after the team added AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs to their receiving lineup. Other players on the roster included DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism, which restricted Boutte's chances to showcase his skills.
Head coach Mike Vrabel stated that the trade would provide Boutte with a greater opportunity to contribute with the Texans, as remaining inactive in New England was a likely scenario.
