Nico Collins has missed two consecutive Houston Texans practices because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status uncertain for the Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Houston had one more workout scheduled before Sunday’s contest, but the team had not announced a final decision on whether Collins would play.
Collins hurt the hamstring while getting ready for Week 2, then sat out Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the season opener, he caught seven of 10 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown during a 36-31 loss to Buffalo.
If Collins is unavailable at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more work at wide receiver. Dalton Schultz has produced the most downfield offense for Houston through two games, with 16 receptions totaling 175 yards.
Collins has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in every one of the last three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025. Missing Week 3 could put that run at risk, with his next possible game coming when the Texans are set to welcome the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. The former Michigan player also had his Texans contract modified during the offseason.
