TCU stayed within a touchdown of BYU for most of a rainy Oct. 3, 2026, meeting in Fort Worth, but the Cougars used a late scoring drive to secure a 17-10 win at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Neither team scored in the opening quarter. BYU struck first in the second, then TCU answered with an eight-play, 76-yard march capped by a 13-yard touchdown pass. The score came with 27 seconds left before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied 7-7.

A 49-yard field goal gave BYU a 10-7 third-quarter edge. The Cougars then put together a 10-play, 72-yard possession lasting 5:55 and finished with a 21-yard touchdown run with 2:06 remaining.

TCU's 44-yard field goal with 32 seconds left cut the deficit to seven, but BYU recovered the ensuing onside kick to end the Horned Frogs' comeback chance.
