Osuna’s Eight-Inning Surge
Adolis Osuna provided the decisive blow in the eighth inning, launching a three-run home run to right field that extended the Texas Rangers’ lead and sealed their 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. The 364-foot blast capped a five-run eighth-inning frame that turned a tight contest into a comfortable margin for the home team.
Osuna’s homer came with runners on base, allowing him to score Duran and Foscue simultaneously. The hit pushed the score to 8-3, effectively ending the Angels' hopes of mounting a comeback. The Rangers’ offense had been steady throughout the game, but it was this late-inning explosion that ultimately defined the outcome.
Scoring Sequence and Game Flow
The Rangers established an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Jose Soler doubled to left field, driving in Jake Burger, and Jake Lowe followed with a single to center field that scored Soler. The Angels responded in the second inning when Jose Lopez singled to left, allowing Nick Soler and Adolis Osuna to score, tying the game at 2-2.
The Angels took a brief 3-2 lead in the seventh inning when Cole Peraza scored on a single by Nick Soler. However, the Rangers tied the game at 3-3 when Nick Soler homered to left field. The Rangers then took the lead in the eighth inning. Josh Smith scored on a single by Marcus Semien, and Nick Soler scored on a subsequent single by Nick Soler.
