Angel Offense Explodes

The Los Angeles Angels delivered a historic offensive performance on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The visiting Angels overwhelmed the Texas Rangers with a final score of 13-1, showcasing a barrage of power hitting that included four home runs. The victory improved the Angels’ record to 37-56, while the Rangers fell to .500 at 46-46.

Scoring Sequence

The Angels established early dominance in the first inning. Zach Neto crossed the plate after a Grissom single to left field, giving Los Angeles a 1-0 lead. The gap widened significantly in the fourth inning when Adell launched a 359-foot home run to right field, driving in Grissom for a 3-0 advantage.

Los Angeles continued to pile on runs in the fifth inning. A single by Grissom to left allowed Neto to score, extending the lead to 4-0. Shortly after, Adell connected on a massive 433-foot home run to center field, bringing in Trout and Grissom to make the score 7-0.

The Angels’ offense remained relentless in the sixth inning. Grissom’s double to right field drove in Lowe and Neto, pushing the margin to 9-0. In the eighth inning, Trout hit a 438-foot home run to left center, adding two more runs to make it 11-0. Higashioka responded for the Rangers with a 389-foot home run to left center, providing the game’s only run for Texas.

Late Inning Action

The Angels added insurance runs in the ninth inning. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right, allowing Adell to score, followed by Siri’s single to left that brought Guzman home. The final score of 13-1 reflected the Angels' complete offensive control.

Pitching Performances

Walbert Urena started for the Angels, pitching four innings while allowing one hit and no earned runs, though he walked five batters and struck out three. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with two scoreless innings, striking out five batters without issuing a walk. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris closed out the game, combining to allow one earned run over three innings.

For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing seven earned runs on nine hits while striking out seven. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Kyle Higashioka (who also batted) filled the remaining innings, surrendering the remaining six runs. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 spectators.
