Sean Manaea anchored the New York Mets’ victory with a sharp performance on the mound, striking out nine batters while allowing just two earned runs over six innings. The right-hander improved his season record to 6-7 as he navigated through the Texas Rangers’ lineup with precision, limiting damage despite giving up four hits and walking two batters.
His ability to generate swings and misses was critical in keeping the Rangers off balance throughout the early portion of the game.
Scoring Moments Define Contest
The Mets took an early 1-0 lead in the third inning when Soto singled to center field, allowing Alvarez to score while Lindor advanced to third. The Rangers responded later in the same frame as Jung doubled to right, bringing Jansen home to tie the game at 1-1.
