Four interceptions proved to be the decisive factor in a 29-7 victory for the visiting Texas Tech Red Raiders over the Colorado Buffaloes at Folsom Field. The contest, played before a crowd of 50,106, saw the Red Raiders dismantle the home offense through consistent defensive play, securing their fifth win of the season while dropping Colorado to a 2-3 record.
The game’s momentum shifted early when Colorado struck first, but Texas Tech responded with field goal accuracy and a critical defensive stop in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders’ defense forced three turnovers that resulted in touchdowns, highlighting their ability to convert pressure into points on a dry afternoon in Boulder.
Scoring Sequence and Key Moments
Colorado took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Joseph Williams caught an eight-yard pass from Isaac Wilson. The Red Raiders answered with a 52-yard field goal by Stone Harrington, leaving the teams tied at 7-7 at the half. Colorado’s offense stalled completely in the second half, failing to score a single point in the third or fourth quarters.
Texas Tech extended its lead in the third quarter with a 27-yard field goal by Harrington. The game-breaking play came shortly after when Will Hammond connected with Terrance Carter Jr. for an 11-yard touchdown pass. Although the two-point pass conversion failed, the play increased the margin to 12-7.
The Red Raiders never looked back from that point, adding three more scores in the final 15 minutes.
