Drivers on U.S. 75 through Grayson County should keep planning around construction zones and long-term frontage road closures in the week starting Monday, Oct. 5, according to the Texas Department of Transportation's Paris District weekly road report. TxDOT notes that its schedules can shift because of weather or equipment problems.
U.S. 75 through Sherman
Between SH 91 (Texoma Parkway) and U.S. 82, crews are rebuilding the highway's main lanes and ramps, including new bridges on Taylor Street and Lamberth Street plus the U.S. 75 span over U.S. 82. The speed limit in that zone is lowered to 60 mph. Two lanes in each direction stay open in the daytime, with some added closures at night.
The southbound-to-northbound U-turn where the U.S. 75 and U.S. 82 frontage roads meet remains closed while crews work on the new bridge. TxDOT is asking drivers to make a series of left turns through the frontage road intersection instead.
North of U.S. 82, the widening to six lanes continues to North Loy Lake Road, with a 65 mph limit and nighttime main-lane closures. Two long-term frontage road closures remain in place:
- Northbound frontage road from Loy Lake Road to FM 691: closed through February 2027
- Southbound frontage road from FM 691 to Loy Lake Road: closed through June 2027
The frontage road U-turn lanes at FM 691 are also closed. TxDOT says drivers needing to turn around there should take a left on FM 691, then turn left again at the following signal.
Brief closures for mobile work can occur from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. or from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
