Two of Sherman's longest US 75 frontage road closures remain in effect this week, with both lanes between Loy Lake Road and FM 691 staying shut until 2027, according to the Texas Department of Transportation's Paris District Weekly Road Report for the week of June 1, 2026. A shorter long-duration closure on the northbound frontage road at Lamberth Drive runs through June 15.
TL;DR
- US 75 northbound frontage between Loy Lake Road and FM 691 has been closed since March 30, 2026 and is scheduled to reopen in February 2027.
- US 75 southbound frontage between FM 691 and Loy Lake Road has been closed since April 20, 2026 and is scheduled to reopen in June 2027.
- Long-duration closure of the northbound frontage at Lamberth Drive runs nightly from May 14 through June 15, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
- The closures support a TxDOT project to rebuild and widen US 75 mainlanes from four to six lanes between US 82 and North Loy Lake Road, including new U-turn bridges at Loy Lake Road in Sherman.

What is closed and when
The Paris District's weekly report, published through North Texas e-News, lists multiple active closures in Sherman:
- Northbound frontage road between Loy Lake Road and FM 691: closed since March 30, 2026 at 7:00 a.m.; scheduled to reopen February 2027.
- Southbound frontage road between FM 691 and Loy Lake Road: closed since April 20, 2026 at 7:00 a.m.; scheduled to reopen June 2027.
- Northbound frontage road intersection with Lamberth Drive (east side): long-duration closure from May 14 to June 15, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
- Northbound exit ramp from US 75 to Lamberth Road (Exit 63): closed since August 20, scheduled to reopen May 2026 (status update pending).
- Northbound frontage road U-turn at the US 75 and US 82 frontage road intersection: closed; traffic is directed to use a series of left turns through the intersection.
The larger project
The closures support a TxDOT project to rebuild and widen the US 75 mainlanes between US 82 and North Loy Lake Road. According to the Paris District report, the project will widen the mainlanes from four to six lanes, reconstruct entrance and exit ramps, rebuild bridges at FM 691, Iron Ore Creek, and Spur 503, and add new U-turn bridges at Loy Lake Road in Sherman and Spur 503 in Denison.
The mainlane speed limit in the project zone has been reduced to 65 miles per hour. Drivers should also expect occasional shoulder closures and lane shifts on the mainlanes, and nighttime lane closures on both northbound and southbound US 75.
