The Sherman Police Department's annual safe, controlled trick-or-treating event, held every year since 2001 and drawing up to 3,000 attendees. Local businesses, churches and organizations set up booths to hand out candy; vendors may advertise but not sell, and the Cindy Carr Spooky Booth Award goes to the best display. The event runs 6:00 to 8:30 PM on Friday, October 30, and is free and open to the public.
