The Sherman Public Library has a full slate of free programs lined up for the first half of November, and most need no ticket or signup, according to the city's event calendar.
All of the events below are at the library, 421 N. Travis St.
For adults
Career Talk, Monday, Nov. 2, 5 p.m. People who work in a range of jobs will talk about what they do. The library says the session is open to all ages.
Financial Literacy Workshop, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 6:30 to 8 p.m. A financial professional will cover budgeting and money management, investing and retirement planning. It is open to anyone 16 or older.
Friends of the Library Book Talk, Wednesday, Nov. 4, at noon. Instead of a book discussion, this month's session is a performance: Gil and Frances Nelson will stage "Time Goes By: The Letter That Never Arrived," which the library describes as a reader's play about love, lost letters and a second chance.
Shoots & Sprouts Society: Gardening in Texas Soil, Tuesdays, Nov. 10 and 17, 6 to 7:30 p.m. The four-part class on growing in local soil and climate continues Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. It is for adults 18 and older.
Digital Navigator, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Free drop-in help with phones, computers and social media is offered from the Pottsboro Library's Around Town outreach bus, parked in the Sherman library's lot.
For kids and teens
Saturday, Nov. 7, brings the Pokémon Trainers Club for ages 12 and under from 2 to 3:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the library has teen craft hours making journal covers, split into sessions for ages 13 to 15 and 16 to 18. Tween Time, the renamed Middle Meetup for ages 10 to 12, runs from 4 to 6 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 13, and a chess club and a trading card game meetup are on the calendar for Saturday, Nov. 14.
