Grayson County voters who wait until Tuesday, Nov. 3, can cast a ballot at any of the county's 24 Election Day vote centers, regardless of where they live in the county, and seven of those sites are in Sherman. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the county Election Administration's posted list.

Sherman vote centers

  • Election Administration office, 115 W. Houston St. (east and west doors)
  • Municipal Building ballroom, 405 N. Rusk St.
  • United Way of Grayson County, 713 E. Brockett St. (main doors)
  • Progressive Baptist Church fellowship hall, 1101 E. Houston St.
  • Texoma Council of Governments, Eisenhower Room, 1117 Gallagher Drive
  • Faith Church, 1800 N. FM 1417 (west doors)
  • Luella First Baptist Church, 3162 Highway 11 (main door)

The rest of the list includes five sites in Denison and one each in Bells, Collinsville, Gordonville, Gunter, Howe, Pottsboro, Sadler, Tioga, Tom Bean, Van Alstyne, Whitesboro and Whitewright.

Before Election Day

Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at eight sites. In Sherman, the early voting location is the Election Administration office on West Houston Street, which the county lists as its main voting location.

What to bring

Texas requires in-person voters who have one of seven approved photo IDs to show it at the polls, according to the Secretary of State's VoteTexas.gov site. The list:

  • A Texas driver license from the Department of Public Safety
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate
  • Texas personal identification card
  • Texas handgun license
  • U.S. military ID card with a photo
  • U.S. citizenship certificate with a photo
  • U.S. passport, book or card

For voters 18 to 69, an ID can be up to four years past its expiration date. Voters 70 and older can use an expired ID regardless of how long ago it expired, and the citizenship certificate does not expire.

A voter who does not have one of those IDs and cannot reasonably get one can sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polls and show a supporting document instead, such as a voter registration certificate, a current utility bill, a bank statement, a government check or a paycheck.
