Peña's Grand Slam Defines Second Inning

Yordan Peña provided the decisive offensive blow for the Houston Astros on Tuesday, launching a grand slam that shifted the momentum entirely in Houston's favor. The power surge came during the second inning, where the Astros erupted for four runs to take a commanding lead over the Miami Marlins.

The inning began with Miami taking an early 2-0 advantage when Mack homered to right field, measuring 409 feet, which drove in Marsee. However, the Marlins' lead lasted only moments. After Wade Jr. scored on a Trammell single to right, Peña connected on a 340-foot home run to right field.

The blast scored Diaz, Dezenzo, and Spence, instantly turning a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 Astros advantage.

Alvarez Adds Power Support

Houston did not stop its offensive output in the second frame. Alvarez followed Peña's heroics with a solo home run to right center, measuring 428 feet, extending the lead to 6-2. Steven Okert recorded the save, working one inning with two strikeouts and no earned runs. Bryan Abreu closed out the regular innings with a perfect frame, striking out two while issuing one walk.

On the mound for Miami, Janson Junk took the loss after allowing six earned runs on five hits over four innings. He struck out three and walked three. Dax Fulton pitched three innings, giving up one earned run on two hits while striking out four. Lake Bachar contributed one inning, allowing one earned run.

Josh Hader entered in the ninth inning but struggled with contact, allowing three hits in his outing. Hernández singled to left field in the ninth, driving in Sanoja to make the final score 8-5.
