Travis Bazzana delivered a performance defined by power and consistency, hitting three home runs to lead the Cleveland Guardians to an 8-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday. The standout offensive display occurred at Daikin Park, where Bazzana’s contributions proved decisive in the Guardians’ win.

Bazzana opened the scoring in the first inning with a home run to right-center field measuring 382 feet. His impact continued in the third inning when he scored on a home run by Manzardo. The most significant swing of the night came in the fifth inning, when Bazzana launched a three-run home run to right-center field, a drive of 406 feet that extended Cleveland’s lead. He added a single in the seventh inning, scoring another run in the process.

Scoring Sequence

The Guardians established early control in the first inning. Following Bazzana’s solo home run, the Astros responded in the second inning with a run scored when Diaz singled to right field, allowing Paredes to score while Altuve reached third base.

Cleveland regained momentum in the third inning. Manzardo homered, driving in Bazzana to make the score 3-1. The Guardians’ offense exploded in the fifth inning. Bazzana’s three-run homer not only increased the lead but also brought Kwan and Bailey to the plate as scorers. The scoring continued in the seventh inning. Bazzana singled to right field, allowing Bailey to score. Shortly after, Manzardo singled to right field, bringing Halpin home to finalize the 8-1 tally.

Pitching Performance

Cleveland’s pitching staff held the Astros to just one earned run. Joey Cantillo earned the win, pitching eight innings while allowing six hits and striking out nine batters. Matt Festa closed out the game with a perfect inning, recording two strikeouts.

Spencer Arrighetti took the loss for Houston, pitching six innings and giving up six earned runs on six hits despite striking out eight batters. Nate Pearson allowed two earned runs on four hits in one inning. AJ Blubaugh and Bryan Abreu each pitched one scoreless inning, with Blubaugh recording three strikeouts and Abreu finishing the game without allowing a hit or run.
