Clement breaks the tie
Three home runs were part of the scoring, and Clement delivered the last one in the 10th inning to give the Toronto Blue Jays a 5-4 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Daikin Park.
Clement homered to left, a 391-foot drive that also scored Urías, putting Toronto ahead 5-3. Houston answered in the bottom of the 10th when Alvarez singled to right and Peña scored. Alvarez was out stretching at second on the play, and the Houston Astros challenged, but the call on the field was upheld.
Astros strike first
Houston took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Altuve opened the scoring with a 401-foot homer to left. Walker then doubled to left to bring in Varsho, and Wade Jr. singled to center to score Walker.
Toronto cut into the deficit in the top of the sixth. Okamoto singled to center to score Straw, making it 3-1. Sánchez followed with a 398-foot homer to right, scoring Okamoto and tying the game 3-3.
Hunter Brown worked six innings for Houston, allowing three hits and three earned runs with two walks and eight strikeouts. Jameson Taillon pitched four innings for Toronto, giving up six hits and three earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts.
