Sherman Municipal Building opens late Oct. 2; court extends some citation deadlines

Sherman’s Municipal Building will be closed until 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, for the Mayor’s Round Table, according to the municipal court’s current notice.

People whose citations list an Oct. 2 appearance date will have through Oct. 5 to handle them without a penalty, the court says. The extension does not apply to course-completion deadlines, including Driver Safety courses due Oct. 2.

The municipal courtroom is on the first floor of the building at 405 N. Rusk St. Regular court-office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Anyone with questions about how the closure affects their citation can contact the court at 903-892-7295. The distinction between an appearance date and a course-completion date matters when checking which deadline applies.
