The Texas Department of Public Safety has placed 49-year-old James Lee Kirby on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List. Officials state that Kirby has known ties to Sherman and is wanted in connection with rape charges.

According to a department release, Kirby has been missing since earlier this year. His disappearance coincided with a malfunction in his GPS monitoring device. At the time the device stopped working, he was awaiting trial on charges of first-degree rape and incest.

The department is offering a cash reward of $7,500 for information that leads to his arrest. Authorities are urging the public to provide any details that might help locate the fugitive.

Further details regarding the specific circumstances of his disappearance or the current status of his legal proceedings were not provided in the release.
