Sherman police have ended a Silver Alert for Lisa Windland, a 68-year-old resident, after confirming she was found dead on Tuesday night. The department issued a statement expressing sadness over the outcome and offering condolences to her family.

Windland was initially reported missing on Monday, July 6. Early reports indicated she was last seen around 6:30 p.m. in the 800 block of West Center Street. At that time, she was described as wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt with bows and black leggings. Later updates revised her last known location to the area near Highway 75 and Center Street, noting she was wearing a pink tank top and black pants.

Authorities provided a physical description of Windland, listing her height at 5 feet 3 inches and her weight at 128 pounds. She has shoulder-length gray hair and green eyes. While the department noted that nothing initially qualified her as endangered, they emphasized the need to locate her to ensure her safety.

The Sherman Police Department worked with search teams from TEXSAR to assist in the investigation. The department thanked TEXSAR and the community for their assistance throughout the search. Det. Logan Rogers was listed as the contact for tips, with the phone number 903-892-7290.

The Silver Alert was entered into the system on Monday afternoon as the investigation continued. The alert was discontinued on Tuesday evening after Windland was located. The department stated that additional information would be released when appropriate.
