Angela Stanford has joined TCU’s women’s golf program as an assistant coach, returning to the university where she won 10 times as a player. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
She played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and earned TCU All-American honors four times. Stanford remains the only four-time All-American in the program’s history and still holds the school record for victories.
TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said the program was “absolutely thrilled” to welcome Stanford back as its third coach. Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford’s experience as a major champion and her leadership of the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
Stanford’s hiring followed her recent work as the U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU did not provide further details about her responsibilities with the team.
