Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to sit out the team’s game against Louisiana Tech, while a report says he is progressing toward a possible return against Colorado on Sept. 26.
Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that Lagway is “on track to return” for the matchup with Colorado and coach Deion Sanders. The report did not establish whether Lagway will play. ClutchPoints also reported that the timing of his return is still uncertain beyond the indication that he is moving toward the Colorado game.
Lagway was hurt as Baylor began its season with a 17-16 defeat against Auburn. On3 Sports had previously been told by sources that the junior quarterback sustained a high-ankle sprain. Baylor coach Dave Aranda had characterized Lagway’s status as day-to-day earlier in the week.
He then missed Baylor’s next game, a 44-3 win over Prairie View. The Bears are scheduled to play Louisiana Tech before starting Big 12 competition against Colorado.
