The Dallas Cowboys agreed this week to extensions with tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford and receiver Ryan Flournoy, keeping both players under contract beyond the 2026 season in deals worth up to a combined $24 million.
Spann-Ford’s three-year contract can pay him $18 million and includes $12.075 million guaranteed. The deal keeps him in Dallas through 2029. An undrafted free agent in 2024, Spann-Ford competed with Luke Schoonmaker for playing time behind Jake Ferguson last season.
Flournoy received a one-season extension worth as much as $6 million, carrying him through 2027. He had 40 receptions, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2025. The report said he is expected to become the Cowboys’ established No. 3 receiver and can play each of the three receiver positions in the team’s 11-personnel formations.
The agreement could provide continuity among the top receivers if George Pickens leaves after the current season.
The extensions differ from the Cowboys’ previous practice of waiting for players to establish themselves before offering long-term deals. Earlier examples cited in the report include contracts for Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland, all completed after those players had demonstrated success.
