The Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad now has two offensive linemen after the Green Bay Packers agreed to sign guard Laken Tomlinson, NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. Tomlinson, 34, joined Dallas earlier this month after All-Pro guard Tyler Smith had thumb surgery and was placed on injured reserve.
He did not appear in either of Dallas’ first two games, and his first game with Green Bay has not been established. Dallas is scheduled to play at Green Bay in Week 6.
Tomlinson was Detroit’s first-round pick in 2015. Across 11 NFL seasons, he has played in 173 games and started 162. His 2021 season with the San Francisco 49ers earned him a Pro Bowl selection.
He has also spent time with the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, including 10 games for Houston in 2025. Last season with the Texans, he surrendered three sacks and 11 pressures.
Dallas’ remaining practice-squad linemen are Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris. Johnson is a tackle who has not appeared in an NFL game, while Morris has lined up at both tackle positions during his three-year career. Smith can return after Week 4.
Green Bay has had offensive-line injuries, with Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon. Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and Pro Football Focus credits Green Bay with allowing 57 pressures through three games.
