Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has a "decent chance" to play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported. Collins is unavailable for Houston's Week 3 game because of a hamstring injury.
Collins has appeared once this season, in Houston's Week 1 defeat against Buffalo. He finished that game with seven receptions, 75 yards and a touchdown. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud has taken the Texans to the playoffs, and the team reached the postseason last year before falling to the New England Patriots.
Dallas also has unresolved secondary issues. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke are not all available for the Cowboys' Week 3 game against Baltimore in Brazil, and their status for the Houston matchup remains unknown.
DaRon Bland and Shavon Revel are currently playing cornerback for Dallas, while Caleb Downs has made an impact after joining the secondary. Dallas ranks 17th in pass defense entering Week 3, giving up 218 yards per game, and the source said the unit still needs improvement.
A possible Cowboys trade for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was also raised, but no completed deal was reported. No additional details on Dallas' Week 4 injuries were provided.
