Dallas Cowboys safety P.J. Locke suffered a foot injury during Washington’s opening possession, adding to the team’s defensive absences in its home game against the Commanders. The injury came in Locke’s second game with Dallas.
A FOX replay showed Locke approaching the play before he appeared to limp, with contact involving another player occurring afterward. Training staff assisted him off the field, and reports cited by Sports Illustrated said he later walked to the locker room under his own power.
Dallas had already ruled out safety Malik Hooker because of a forearm injury. Locke joined the Cowboys in the offseason on a one-year contract worth $4 million, following six NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos.
In Dallas’ season-opening defeat against the New York Giants, Locke made two tackles. Sports Illustrated described its report as breaking news that could receive additional updates.
