Trent Brown’s 2026 incentive package with the Houston Texans now has a maximum value of $2.5 million, up from $1.5 million. Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti detailed the revised terms Sept. 16 in a post on X.
The one-year contract Brown signed during the 2026 offseason is worth $5.5 million. Under the updated structure, he can earn five separate $500,000 bonuses for reaching playtime marks of 50%, 55%, 60%, 65% and 70%.
Over The Cap’s Troy Chapman previously reported that the changes did not alter Brown’s salary-cap charge or initial cash flow, because the added incentives were placed on top of the original package.
Brown started seven regular-season games and one playoff game for Houston in 2025, with injuries affecting the start and finish of his season. He stayed with the team through the offseason program and opened Week 1 at right tackle. Houston signed Braden Smith to a two-year, $20 million contract, but Smith went on injured reserve after injuries prevented him from taking the starting job.
Pro Football Focus ranked Brown Houston’s sixth-best pass blocker and third-highest-rated offensive lineman in that category in Week 1. The 2015 seventh-round pick has played for San Francisco, Cincinnati, Las Vegas and New England, winning a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2018. He has started 104 of 111 career games.
